I am currently working with this large secondary school based in Skelmersdale to recruit a teaching assistant for a long term ongoing basis.
The school has been rated GOOD in its most recent OFSTED report. They have a large learning support team aiding the teaching and learning on a whole class and 1-2-1 basis and you will have responsibility for both aspects of the role. The school is a very warm and welcoming environment with excellent facilities and a strong behaviour management policy. The role would be 5 days per week, Monday-Friday.
The successful applicant must:
• Be an excellent communicator and have a nurturing approach to students• Be reliable, committed and interested in working with students and be a good role model.• Possess the qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness and good listening skills.• Have good interpersonal skills; be trustworthy, punctual as well as being patient and confident when working with children.• Ideally have a teaching assistant qualification however this is not essential if you have experience and skills obtained in school.
The school will also considerer teachers who are looking to move into a support role rather than have whole class responsibility.
LTA's Commitment to you:
• Provide high quality training and support through our Lancashire County Council partnership• Competitive rates of pay in line with national education pay scale• A dedicated consultant to support you within your role on call 24/7
