Role Value Proposition:

Perform the role of Senior Project Lead for the MetLife Global Corporate Systems group. Responsibility within the Legal Affairs relationship and managing projects of varying sizes from small to larger scale complex projects. This role reports to the Director of Application Development. The Sr. Project Lead will need to build partnerships and coordinate resources across the various IT and business teams. The candidate will define and manage the portfolio of projects with minimal supervision while delivering on time and on budget. The candidate is tasked with conducting meetings, document status, support the resolution of open issues and escalate critical issues to management, including a resolution approach and the potential impact to the business. The candidate would leverage their experience to provide guidance on processes and procedures, define and manage project performance objectives as well as developing and implementing Program/Project level guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manages medium scale, application/IT delivery projects business driven initiatives.
• Defines and manages resource requirements and allocations, monitors and improves quality, and ensures best practice development techniques.
• Works closely with client departments in development and implementation of applications to ensure technology alignment to business requirements and desired objectives for the solution are obtained
• Advises application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements.
• Follows approved SDLC and project management methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.
• Accountable for directing work effort of staff assigned to project or program.
• Owns project/program issue resolution and risk management.
• Manages and oversees the full system development process and oversight of ongoing application maintenance.
• Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking and analysis.
• Coordinates and reports on project progress and accomplishments.

• Must have the ability to document processes, Business Requirement Documents, Project Charters, SLA's

• Provides technical and analytical support and guidance to project team members.
• Assists in developing vendor statements of work, deliverables and SLAs

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6-8 years of work or project experience
  • 3-5+ years in the role of managing projects combined with technical experience directly related to the position
  • Possess strong leadership and negotiation skills, analytical skils
  • Extensive knowledge of project management practices
  • Experience supporting Corporate IT Systems such in Legal Affairs or Compliance
  • Experience managing 3rd party vendors, defining desired outcomes and providing leadership to ensure performance targets are met
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
