The Quality Control Supervisor will ensure the manufacturing production line runs smoothly and generates a consistently suitable output of products that meet quality and efficiency standards. The Quality Control Supervisor understands the customers' needs and requirements and coordinates employee efforts and communications between management and the production teams. In this role, you will be responsible for training and providing work direction for Quality Inspectors and Technicians by providing guidance and leadership with regard to customer requirements and quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Directly supervise a team of QC inspectors on day and night shift in testing of raw materials, in-process components and finished goods
Manage final release testing for finished goods
Lead the troubleshooting of technical and quality issues with cross functional teams
Create new procedures by working in cross functional teams and observe proper safety precautions
Able to perform technical procedures and use laboratory equipment
Create and review batch records
Overseeing product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards
Gaining feedback from the customers, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors.
Maintain Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP/GLP)
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or other technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
3+ years of experience in production, manufacturing and/or quality control.
Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/standards
Working knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Working knowledge of FDA, cGMPs/QSR and ISO quality system requirements
Strong technical writing skills and effective communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lift 50 lbs. and regularly lift to 30lbs, handle tasks involving frequent bending, twisting, lifting, squatting, walking, and standing.
Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
