We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a family run business based in Peterborough in the position of Health & Safety Advisor. This position will provide support and coordination for all Safety, Health and Wellbeing activities on site, plus facilitation of the Environmental & Quality management standards. The role holder will advise and coordinate on the systems and processes that exist to monitor and control our compliance to legislation, internal policies as well as being the focal point of both internal and external audits and proactive SHEQ improvement activities. They will be the individual on site who will support Operational Management to maintain high standards, champion innovation and solutions to issues, promote positive culture and safety working practices. They will share best practice from other parts of the business or external forums to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities for the Health & Safety Advisor: Provide competent health and safety advice and support, to ensure compliance with policies, standards and legal regulations and to promote a positive safety culture. Reporting to the Director this role is a stand-alone position where proactivity is essential. Must be able to communicate at all levels within the company, but ultimately decisions sit with the Director. Problem solving skills and ability to present solutions to the Director Ensure that all required assessments, inspections and audits are completed as required Help drive Health and Safety culture and improve standards Support the business in improving environmental management Advise the Head of Health and Safety of any serious accident, incident, occurrence, near miss without delay Identify SHE training needs, deliver training and manage training records Produce KPIs in relation to safety and training H&S qualified ideally at least Level 3 qualified, working towards or willing to train Manufacturing experience Strong organisational skills Experience of ISO standards is desirable Environmental Management qualification is desirable Additional Information: Full Driving licence preferred Right to work in the UK In return you will receive: 25 days annual leave (after successful completion of probationary period) plus bank holidays Life Cover (after 1-year service) Auto-enrolment Pension Scheme Full-time - Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 (40 hours per week), including a 60-minute unpaid break.
