North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.

Candidates must be able to meet the standards required to obtain and hold a Secret or Higher US Government Clearance

Job Description
  • North Wind Site Services, LLC, is seeking a qualified GIS Analyst with 1-3 years experience to support current environmental projects out of our Salt Lake City, UT, Idaho Falls ID, or our Anchorage AK offices. The selected individual will conduct data gathering, conversion, and analysis of GIS data and prepare data documentation and metadata for GIS projects.
  • The candidate must have a high level of skill in preparing publish quality maps and exhibits out of ArcGIS 10.x & ArcGIS Pro and be familiar with ESRI field maps. The candidate must also demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to complete projects independently and/or in small teams in a responsible and timely manner. This is a fast-paced environment and individuals will need to communicate effectively to technical staff.
  • This position requires a minimum 4-year degree (Masters preferred) in Geography, GIS, or an environmental discipline using GIS as well as knowledge, understanding, and experience using GIS software to manipulate, convert, analyze, and map geospatial data. Additional experience with Geodatabases, SDSFIE structure, tablet-based field collection, Python scripting, etc., is highly desirable. Applicants should also include any additional experience they may possess, e.g, emerging technologies such as operation of unmanned aerial vehicles for data collection, photogrammetric analysis, etc.
  • Most of the projects will be supporting environmental remediation and assessments, but may also include compliance, NEPA documents, and fire management plans among others. Most of the work will be performed in the office with travel being 15% or less. Therefore, a candidate with experience in the environmental consulting industry with these types of projects is highly desirable. This opportunity affords excellent experience and working with GIS applications in diverse environmental fields. This is not a remote position and requires the candidate to work from an office environment.
