The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG's ability to successfully meet our clients' demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the best of BCG' to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

As a Co-op, we are looking for a strong candidate to support global HR projects and change initiatives to grow and enhance the group of experts at BCG. Today, BCG has over 700 global experts and we want to grow and further develop this cohort. The role requires a high degree of motivation, maturity, and flexibility, an eagerness to be part of a lean and high performing team, comfort with ambiguity, eagerness to lean in to support team when needed and the ability to work in a virtual management environment. Being an excellent team play will be critical to your success.

The primary focus of this position is to support the Global ECT HR Project Manager in further developing the Expert Consulting Track (ECT) cohort at BCG. You will also work closely with the Senior Director, who is globally responsible for the success of the Expert track as well as other members of the operational regional teams and across functions within BCG. The individual will work on projects covering areas like the Expertise Development Program (EDP), be an integral team member in the development of a new dashboard to improve the recruitment process for our Experts and be a key contributor on HR related projects, with a focus on data analytics to help inform our decision-making process.

Support the Global ECT team in the delivery of several key strategic priority projects. Specifically:
  • Help with work-flow management, data analyses, and operational improvements that support our top priorities including improving Women@ECT, data system integrations, working with the Practice Areas, and shaping the vision of the track
  • Optimize and streamline the Expertise Development Program - help us improve processes in a new online system to manage the growing complexity of the Expertise development program, a highly impactful and visible program for ECT
  • Conduct data quality checks and coordinate beta-testing /deployment of the new HR system (Workday), as well as ongoing ad-hoc support for creating and improving Tableau dashboards
  • Help us establish a shared services and PMO model for the regional ECT teams - starting with the enhancement of on on-boarding process through a new-joiner survey and monthly Analyst calls
  • Maintain and support the Expertise database, and leverage it to conduct the analysis of the senior experts' promotions pipeline, developing the fact base that the regional ECT teams will use to make more informed decisions
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, including our communication to Experts, Annual Plans project, assistance in preparing the materials for our global and regional management team calls

    Contributes to operations' transformation:
  • Digitize tools and processes: Provide assistance in the development of new recruiting and capacity dashboards
  • Support the implementation of agile methodologies in ECT management teams (Trello, Slack, Egnyte, OneDrive


  • Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic often virtual
  • Have strong level of analytical skills and quantitative analysis - knowledge of Tableau is a plus
  • Ability to work in a semi start-up mode and navigate complexity, ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Communicating with senior stakeholders, being credible and proactive
  • Framing, structuring, and sharing key insights with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively
  • Working creatively and analytically in a time-limited, problem-solving environment

  • Must meet the co-op program eligibility requirements of the current college/university's academic department and student must be approved by the college/university to participate in the co-op program
  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the minimum duration of the co-op cycle (January - June)
  • Must be authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be physically located in the U.S. during Co-op
  • BCG is currently allowing remote work situations in the U.S. due to COVID; however, should this change, applicants must be able to be physically present in the BCG Boston office (if required by BCG/Hiring Manager) within a reasonable timeframe


You will work with the Global Expert Consulting Team based out of the ACC - Boston office and with the ECT leadership team globally. Your direct line manager will be based out of the New York office and you'll also have direct interactions with the Paris ECT team as well.
