Job Summary

Responsible for identifying complex problems and developing novel machine learning algorithms to solve them. Evaluates accuracy and functionality of individual machine learning algorithms and understands the overall implications of entire machine learning frameworks. Responsible for overseeing design, implementation and evaluation of future machine learning based products and applications. Guides engineering teams to successfully deploy and operate machine learning based products and applications. Develops novel ways to solve problems and improve products using machine learning, provide guidance and leadership to other researchers and/or engineers. Acts as a technical expert in own area within the organization. May work independently or as part of a team on more complex projects. Provides mentoring and guidance to more junior team members. May be responsible for leading a team, but does not directly manage people. We are part of the Comcast Applied AI & Discovery organization that is developing and operating most of Comcast's AI/ML-powered customer facing products Media Analysis platform consists of advanced technologies that extract, store, and deliver metadata associated with scenes or moments in video. This can include identifying ads, people on screen, news topics, or creating chapters for programs and movies.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities
  • Guides the successful completion of high profile, revenue impacting programs that use machine learning as essential components. Determines the technical objectives of an assignment. Leads the design of prototypes, partnering with the product team and other stakeholders through development. Conducts studies to support product or application development. Serves as a leader to others for machine learning technologies.
  • Designs and develops specifications, technical requirements, algorithms and frameworks of custom machine learning based designs for future products and applications.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in designing and prototyping medium to high complexity machine learning models. Lead innovation in technical capability delivery.
  • Contributes to the realization of cutting-edge technical capabilities into business applications and solutions by being responsible for applying advanced algorithms and techniques to software solutions.
  • Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, confluence pages, white papers, presentations, test results, technical manuals, formal recommendations and reports. Creates patents, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and other intellectual property. Presents papers and/or attends conferences, as well as displaying leadership in these areas.
  • Tests and evaluates solutions presented to the Company by various internal and external partners and vendors. Completes case studies, testing and reporting.
  • Represents the work team and organization as the prime technical contact on assigned projects.
  • Serves as a leader to others on assigned projects. Provides guidance and leadership to more junior engineers.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Bachelor's Degree
