Overview

As a Driver Support Specialist, you will get the opportunity to provide world-class support to our professional drivers by triaging phone calls in a timely manner and handling basic equipment issues, fuel issues and load-related issues- i.e., handling the dispatch of hazardous materials, OS&D issues, monitoring high value loads, etc. Provide support to various internal departments with accurate recording of information related to incidents. Appropriately and efficiently hand off calls/issues that require more in-depth knowledge to the appropriate Senior Specialist for that area. Must be willing and able to learn new skills and tasks as the department and position continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities
  • Answers professional driver phone calls in a prompt, timely manner
  • Handles minor to medium level equipment breakdown issues
  • Triages and passes high level equipment breakdown issues to Senior Breakdown Agents
  • Identifies out-of-network fuel stops for professional drivers in emergency situations
  • Handles issues and questions with driver advances
  • Handles minor level accident intake calls and ensures claim information is accurate and set up correctly
  • Triages and passes high level accident intake calls to Senior Incident Coordinators
  • Works closely with and maintains a strong line of communication with Operations, Safety, Claims and other departments to complete Driver Support tasks
  • Ability to adapt to changes and additions to job tasks as this role evolves with the development of the department
  • Must have the ability to work from home if/when necessary

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations is a plus
  • Geographical knowledge is a plus
  • Vehicle mechanical knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge Office 356, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
