Job Description:

The Document Specialist will work with Project Managers and other technical team members in support of planning and environmental projects. The Document Specialist will write, edit, proofread, and format a variety of report and study documents. This will involve coordination between client, technical experts, document production staff, and graphics specialists. The result is effective communication of technical information, editorial consistency, and document quality organization and appearance. The duties of the Document Specialist may include any or all of the following:

Types of Support
  • Document standards and templates
  • Preparation of document style guides
  • Document management
  • Technical writing
  • Copy editing (grammar, tenses, etc)
  • Technical editing
  • Proof reading
  • Multi-author coordination
  • Document quality review
  • Quality program implementation and documentation
  • Literature research

Types of Document
  • Project deliverables (technical documents, presentations, management plans, progress reports, specifications)
  • Environmental documents (CatEx, EA, EIS)
  • Feasibility studies and transportation plans
  • Grant applications
  • Presentation materials
  • Executive summaries


Base Requirements
  • 5+ Years Experience
  • Experience in A/E/C Industry
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Powerpoint

  • Technical writing and detailed editing

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $50,000 - $80,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
