We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Financial Accountant to join our team based in Gilwell Park (with Hybrid working option). The Assistant Financial Accountant Role: We are seeking a Part Qualified Accountant to be responsible for the recording and reviewing of financial data and produce monthly, quarterly and assist with annual reports including statutory accounts. The Finance Team is made up with a diverse number of individuals, from various backgrounds, who all have a strong sense of team work whilst creating a good environment to work in. You would be joining a team where we encourage individuals to develop and learn new skills by working with stakeholders both internal and external to help the Scouts achieve its strategic goals. Key responsibilities as our Assistant Financial Accountant: Maintain the uninsured claims register (bordereau) and provide analysis and reports Regular reports on status of provisions Assist Financial Accountant with bank reconciliations Assist Deputy Head of Finance with bank administration Regular meetings with Lawyers to ensure adequate provisions and al bills reflected in accounts Liaise with Financial Accountant to ensure adequate cash for payment requests Assist Deputy Head of Finance with covering the Financial Accountant Develop and produce monthly financial reports Ensure all periodic adjustments are evidenced, calculated and authorised Ensure compliance with all statutory and other reporting requirements Manage analysis and produce excellent written reports Work closely with the team to promote efficient system usage and process automation Continuous improvement of self and processes and customer service Communicate and support the finance department ensuring the inter departmental communication is standard, compliant and consistent prior to sending this outside of Finance What we are looking for in our Assistant Financial Accountant: Part qualified with recognisable CCAB qualification Educated to a good standard of literacy and written communication Methodical and systematic approach to work Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Ability to communicate clearly and concisely Good attention to detail Able to appreciate the need for confidentiality and discretion Excellent IT skills particularly MS office excel What we can offer you as our Assistant Financial Accountant: 25 days holiday and going up to 28 days after 2 years service and 32 days after 5 years service Additional holidays between Christmas & New Year Life Assurance Simply Health Scheme Generous Pension Scheme Free car parking We are proud to be a family-friendly employer and offer Up to four personal days paid leave a year Maternity/Paternity Leave Childcare Vouchers Flexible working hours Store Discount at our Scout Store + other online benefits Study and volunteer leave Closing date: Mon, 12 September 2022 at 23:59 Don t miss out on the opportunity to join our fantastic team!
